Tom's N 6000
Tom George of Indianola Iowa is one of the more serious collectors of N series trucks. He is numerous N 850's 950's and 1000's in both diesel and gas configurations. He owns a rare crew cab N series 600 but the pride of his fleet is his N 6000. The N 6000 was a truck designed for use in the city. Motor freight companies used them for city pick up and delivery, they were used as fuel oil haulers, lumber yard owners used them for hauling lumber. They were used for many different purposes around the city. They were used for many of the same purposes as the N 600 and 700 were used for. What makes the 6000 and the 7000 different from the 600 and the 700 is the engine. The 6000 and 7000 used a diesel engine whereas the 600 and 700 used a gas engine. The 330 Dagenham was used from 63 to 66 and the 363 Dorset from 67 to 69. These engines were also used in the C model Fords. While the trucks were built in sufficient numbers they are almost non existent today. These trucks are getting harder and harder to find with each passing day. Tom started with a low mile truck he found in Alaska and built it into probably the finest example that you will find in this country today.

The 6000 and 7000 series had DIESEL written in the cowl badges instead of the 600, 700, 850, 950, or 1000 as in the other models.
