1973 COUGAR CONVERTIBLE
The Sign of the Cat
I had said on the Falcon page that I had once owned a 71 Mercury Cougar convertible with a Boss 351C. The car was stolen and recovered about a week later in a near by town. The brilliant thieves that stole the car had ran both sides of the car down a guardrail,
stolen the bucket seats and the radio, but never bothered the engine or the four speed transmission. The car was totaled by the insurance Co. I bought the car back from the insurance co. and removed the engine and transmission to use another day. The insurance co. settled and I ended up with another Cougar. A 73 convertible this time. The 73 was a nice car too. It had the 351C Cobra Jet engine with an automatic transmission. The 351CJ engine was a good running engine, but never came close to what the Boss motor would do. I would post some pictures of the 71 Cougar, but I do not have any, or at least I can't find any.
